The great thing about flames is that there's really no right or wrong way to draw them. You can draw them in thousands of different ways, and anyone looking at what you drew will get that it's a drawing of fire. So don't worry too much about doing it right. Just let it flow, letting your pencil wander across the paper. Before you know it, flames will start to take shape on the page.
3. Your next step in learning draw flames is to add color. The outside of a flame is usually the most vibrant. Then, as you move towards the center and down, bright orange fades to light yellow, almost white in some cases. Then, at the bottom of the flame and towards the center, you will find the color blue. What you use to do this will depend on the effect you are going for. If you want vibrant, almost cartoonish flames, you can use bright, vibrant markers. If you want more realistic looking flames, you can use something like colored pencils, which allow you to shade and blend until you get the desired effect.
