Making Paper
Lignin, which is often present in newspaper, will turn yellow if exposed to sunlight for a period of time. If lignin is present in construction paper that is exposed to a great deal of sunlight, then the yellowing can counteract the other dyes in the paper and lead to fading and discoloration.
