Crack a farce to rift the cool with an awkward dance partner.
When you're out for a night of dancing, you want to meet fun people, relax and have a good time. Though it's not ideal, you might find yourself in an uncomfortable situation on the dance floor. Maybe an awkward guy asked you to dance, or perhaps you're trying to help an antisocial friend let loose. He may answer and ask the same question of you, which will give you a chance to talk about the kinds of dancing you enjoy and offer to show him a few of your favorite moves.4. Keep your body relaxed.
Introduce yourself to the guy who is acting awkwardly. If you don't already know your dance partner, ask him what his name is and tell him yours. Continue making small talk by asking about his profession and other interests. Talking a bit with him may loosen him up and lessen his awkward mannerisms.
2. Break the tension with a light joke. Laughing can help both of you feel more comfortable and help loosen up your awkward partner.
3. Ask him if he likes dancing or has ever danced before. Whatever the case, you can make an awkward situation fun by introducing yourself, joking with him and staying relaxed.
Instructions
1.Confident body language is especially important if the music is too loud for you to talk to one another as you dance. If you are rigid or seem uncomfortable, your partner will feed off your energy.
5. If you are doing a ballroom or other partnered dance with an awkward guy, let him lead even if it makes you uncomfortable. Taking his lead when it comes to changing directions, turning and stepping shows that you trust him.
6. Smile and thank your partner when the dance is over. You don't have to continue talking or dancing with him, but always thank your partner for the dance and tell him you had a good time. Even if he made you feel awkward, remain polite and cordial until you part company.
