Sell Signed Books

For an author, signing books good business sense. Autographing books is a good way to promote good will with fans. It's also an effective way to drum up sales the book may not have enjoyed otherwise. Readers who might not consider buying a book may change their minds for a chance to get an autographed copy for the same price as a copy without an autograph. You can even sell the copies a little over your cost. Offer only a limited number. It's good advertisement and may make you new fans.3.

Purchase a number of your books from your publisher. You usually get a discount when you purchase your own books. This discount typically ranges between 30 and 50 percent off the cover price. Once you purchase the books at this price, you are free to sell them at whatever price you wish. You can choose to sell them at cost, cover price, or even a little more since the book is autographed.

2. Get a website. You don't need to spend money on one. A free website will do. Devote the website to selling autographed copies of your book. If you already have an author's website, add a section devoted to selling autographed copies of anything you publish. Find a method of signing books that works for you and take advantage of using your signature to boost book sales.

Instructions

1.

Visit local book stores and talk to the owner. Many times you'll find an owner willing to stock your book free. Offer to place a set number of autograph copies in the store for a choice spot by the cash register. The bookstore gives you prime shelf space and make a percentage from each book sold. It's good business sense for you and the book store owner.
