Students who are currently enrolled in a college art program or those who plan to have several scholarship opportunities available to them. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 60 percent of all art and design majors become self-employed. To help with tuition costs, several organizations are offering scholarships to art students. The scholarships cover a range of degrees including fine art, music, graphic or interior design.

Scholarships.com, a large scholarship database, provides an Art Scholarship of its own for registered users of the site. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and an enrolled undergraduate student or high school senior planning to enroll in an art program. Art students can be majors or intended majors in more than 17 different art forms including graphic design, art history, theater, dance, photography or music. Scholarships are in the amount of $1,000.

National Sculpture Society

IFDA/EF Scholarships
Every year, the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) and the Educational Foundation (EF) collaborate to offer seven different scholarships to students enrolled in an accredited school, majoring in interior design or a related field. Full-time students must have completed at least four courses related to design and part-time students must be currently enrolled in a minimum of two designed- related courses. All applicants are required to submit a 200-400 word essay that explains career goals, awards and extra-curricular activities. Other requirements include 2-3 student design examples on CD or in digital color and a letter of recommendation for an instructor or professor.
