4. Save the template with the title and credits by selecting "File," followed by "Save" from the toolbar. Enter a name in the "File Name" box and select a destination, and then click "Save." Print the comic strip template by clicking on "File" and "Print" from the toolbar menu. Type in the number of copies in the "Copies" box and click "OK" or "Print." The beginning consists of the introduction of a situation or person, the middle includes complications and resolution within the story, while the end tells how the resolution has changed the situation or character.
2. Open a new document in the word processing program by selecting "File," and then "New" from the program's menu. Once open, type a title for the comic strip at the top of the page, as well as any credits to the illustrator and creator. Press the "Return" or "Enter" key twice on the keyboard after adding the title and credits.
3. Create the comic strip's page layout on the document page using "Square" and "Rectangle" shapes located in the "Draw" toolbar at the bottom of the screen. Place two squares, measuring three by three inches each, side by side under the title of the comic strip. Draw a large rectangle measuring three by six inches below the two top squares, and then create two additional three- by three-inch squares below the rectangle.
1. Write out a story outline for the comic strip before creating the art. Identify the beginning, middle and end of the story to create the plot.
5. Draw the characters in the boxes according to the sequence of the story, along with any dialogue inside the word bubbles. Narrative text can be written inside or below each box to help the reader follow the story better. Once the characters have been drawn and the dialogue has been added, outline both with a fine tip marker or black pen.
6. Add color to the comic strip using color pencils, markers or pens. Use darker colors such as black to create shadows. Once the comic strip has been completed, place each sheet inside a plastic sheet protector to prevent damage.
